Server Farm

The Server Farm is located in Milan, Viale Legioni Romane 43. It spans on over 300 mq and it has been realised following state of the art criteria, regarding both the physical security of the site and equipment, as well as the strict adherence to safety law in force.

The adoption of redundant UPS units and a diesel generator assure the constant supply of electric energy.
The Server Farm includes redundant air conditioning systems, which provide air-cooling through a floating floor. The Server Farm can accomodate over 60 standard racks (60cm x 80cm) which are reserved for the equipment provided by our customers, and connections between equipement is made easy by tracks underneath the floating floor.

The access to the Server Farm is guaranteed by the monitoring of the visitor that extends to the whole building, in addition to a 24/7 watchman service. Fire safety is assured by a sophisticated fire alarm system and nozzles, and by the presence 24 hours a day of a qualified fireman in the building.

The Server Farm in Milan is already connected with the most important Italian telecom operators, which are linked by the use of redundant fiber optic connections.

At the moment our Server Farm connects with fiber optics to Telecom Italia, Colt Telecom, Wind Infostrada, Fastweb, Interoute and Global Crossing.

Furthermore, the network infrastructure of many other operators is available in close proximity of the building that hosts the ePress Server Farm.

ePress can rely on redundant fiber optic connections to the wider Internet through major international telecom operators able to offer a large Extra-European coverage (Tier 1 operators).

The Server Farm in ePress in connected with the MIX in Milan through two fiber optic link (which follow different routes), currently illuminated to a speed of 1 GB. The company has secured peering agreement with the biggest Italian telecom operators, so to assure the best connectivity with the national Internet infrastructure.
